nature calls. and so do finals.

so. i have a thing for flowers. trees. sunshine. grass. fresh air. nature in general.

spring is such a hard time of year. it's also a favorite. the hard part is that spring calls for final exams, and at the same time the earth is coming back to life. and i'm telling you, i cannot stay away from it. so studying outside has been my combination of the two, but sometimes i get a little distracted....hehe. enjoy les photos. :)
buttercups.  :)
weeds. i think they're pretty.  :)
handiwork of Papaw.  :)
honey suckles. that one tiny drop of sweet nectar was always so hard to get. i once tried to fill a jar with it. that didn't work out. :P

the storm is over. but the affects of it will last for months. maybe even years. please keep those who have lost their homes, everything they ever owned, and even their loved ones, in your prayers.

my family wasn't affected, so it's hard for me to imagine what those people are going through. but i know it's not easy. not at all. i've seen so much destruction and ruin, and it's heartbreaking.

if you're looking for ways to help, the Salvation Army is the place to go if you live in or around Cleveland. they're in need of volunteers and/or donations. bread, peanut butter, jelly, diapers, water, work gloves, and anything else that you feel you should donate.

yet through all of the loss and devastation, God has a plan. He knows what He's doing. if you were one not affected by the tragic storm, be thankful for His protecting arms.

"'Peace! Be still!' And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, 'Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?' And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, 'Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?'"

le printemps

this post is a little late, because all of these flowers have already come and gone. blame school. anyways, enjoy!
And then there's Sophie, my lovely kitty whom brought me a very special gift the other morning. yes, there was a bird lying in my bedroom floor. i felt so loved.
this one was an accident, but i kind of really like it. :)

so have a wonderful spring and don't waste it inside!

sincerely,
laney

read this verse this morning and found it to be very comforting. He's there, always. you wouldn't be here if He wasn't.

"God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns."
Psalm 46:5

raindrops like diamonds

i love rain.

tuesday was full of showers on and off all day. here are a few shots from when the sun was coming up on that beautiful day. :)

"As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number: He gives rain on the earth and sends waters into the fields."
Job 5:8-10

this is good, very good.

so i got home from school one day, and was in the mood to make something delicious for lunch. and that i did. :D

this is just some regular, lightly buttered, sourdough bread. i put two, big slices of freshly cut tomatoes on each piece. some italian herbs, a few pieces of this really, fancy pepperoni (i have no idea where it came from...must have been on sale!), and a little bit of extra virgin olive oil to top it off. put it in the oven for, eh, 2-3 minutes, took it out, and voila! it was quite scrumptious. :)

oh yes, a bit of parmesan cheese would be great with this, too.

another very good thing, is the season of spring. hehe, that ryhmed. :)

spring and summer are my favorite months. and not just because my birthday happens to be in spring, or that there isn't any school in the summer meaning i get to play ultimate frisbee EVERY DAY!

ok, maybe those are the main reasons.

but really, i love this time of year. all of the trees start budding, flowers are popping out everywhere, (meaning lots of photo opportunities!) and the weather is simply gorgeous. :)

i know most people call these weeds, but i think that they are beautiful. when i was little i would pick millions of them, (or maybe like, 20...) and make a bouquet for my mom. she loved them. :)

well, that's all for now. :) happy pi day to all you math fanatics!

"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all of his splendor was dressed like one of these."
